ART + TRANSFORMATION
I'm an interdisciplinary artist working in collage, assemblage, performance, improv, and video. I've been creating one collage everyday since 2012. In my daily collage practice I sift through books and magazines and cut out fragments of images and create surreal and often humorous compositions. My work transforms the complex web of mass media that we interact with through a mindful act that serves as an unexpected aesthetic refuge. I love to remix vintage with contemporary and nature with technology. My work is all about transformation. It's about transforming the way we see things, the world around us, and the way we see ourselves.
I'm a former TEDx speaker and my work has been featured by MOO, SCOPE Art Miami Beach, and nationwide on PBS. I also created and host a video series, Paper Cuts with Colleen McCulla, that explores the medium of collage on YouTube. I live and work in Chicago, IL where I'm getting an MFA at Columbia College Chicago. Follow my daily collages on Instagram.
